Lucy has worked with individuals with a range of presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, difficult relationship patterns, loss and bereavement, stress, trauma and abuse, self- confidence and self-esteem issues and drug and alcohol misuse.
Whilst working in the NHS Lucy studied a doctorate in counselling psychology and gained experience in a range of assessments and therapies within different clinical settings.
Once qualified as a registered counselling psychologist Lucy worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). From here Lucy went on to develop specialist skills working with children’s residential homes. During this time Lucy worked with people who presented with a wide variety of issues including social, emotional, behavioural and educational needs, children and parents who had suffered trauma, parents with complex mental health problems, safeguarding issues and organisational dynamics. Many of the young people Lucy supported were autistic and neurodiverse. Lucy went on to lead and develop a therapeutic service within a children’s residential care provider, offering trauma informed therapeutic care to children and the professionals and carers supporting them.
Lucy then went on to work for a charity as the Clinical Lead for a Specialist Autism Assessment and Support Service where she worked alongside speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, nurses and other professionals to offer responsive and high-quality Autism Services.
Before moving into private practice Lucy went on to work as the Head of Psychology for a Family Safeguarding Service within the Local Authority. Here Lucy worked with families experiencing domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health difficulties, many of them having experienced trauma in their lives.
Now in private practice Lucy puts all this experience, skills and learning to use working with individuals, families, professionals and organisations to offer psychology services that are responsive to their needs.
